Baby in the maternity hospital: the first days of life.

As soon as the baby is born, the midwife takes them in her arms and immediately starts caring for them. Every detail matters here. Imagine: the baby is born wet, having just been inside the mother's body where the temperature was 36.6 °C, and now they are in a delivery room where the air temperature is about 24 °C. While this is a warm and comfortable environment for an adult, the 12 °C difference is significant for a baby. Infants' thermoregulation is still immature; they struggle to retain heat and cool down quickly, not to mention the impact of factors like damp skin and a sudden temperature change.
