Kidney stones during pregnancy: A clinical case.
In June 2022, a 27-year-old patient, Ms. P, visited the MD GROUP Clinical Hospital at 7 weeks of pregnancy. She reported experiencing pain in the lower back on the right side, accompanied by a fever that reached 38°C. Upon examination, a blockage in urine flow from the right kidney was detected, caused by a ureteral stone. As a result, a ureteropyeloscopy (internal examination of the ureter) was performed, revealing a narrowing of the ureter and mucous stones forming within it. Dilation of the ureter was carried out, along with the removal of the mucous stones from both the ureter and renal pelvis, and a right internal stent was placed. Following the procedure, the patient continued to be monitored on an outpatient basis.
